Venturing out in a camper van during the off-peak season can be a unique experience. To make our travels smoother, we added a few essential accessories from Amazon to our basic camper van setup.
Soundproof with Dynamat
Usually employed to enhance sound quality by reducing rattles in high-end audio setups, we lined our van with Dynamat. It dramatically muted external noise, allowing us to converse easily and enjoy peaceful moments. While it might not win any design awards, we’re considering covering it with a more aesthetically pleasing fabric or material in the future.
Maximize Space with Magnetic Hooks
These sturdy Neodymium and steel magnetic hooks are genuinely transformative. They’re perfect for hanging items both inside and outside the van, offering convenient access and additional storage. From jackets to lanterns, these hooks ensure everything is within easy reach.
Illuminate with Tap Light Push Lights
These affordable battery-operated tap lights are simple yet efficient. While there are LED alternatives that might be more eco-friendly and cost-effective in the long term, this five-pack for $12 has served our needs brilliantly. We’ve placed these lights on walls, ceilings, or any spot that becomes our temporary reading nook.
Dry Essentials with a Magnetic Towel Bar
A magnetic towel bar proves invaluable for drying items like washcloths, dish towels, or lightweight bath towels. Although it might struggle with a drenched beach towel, it’s perfectly placed on the van’s side near our dishwashing setup.
Add a Visor Mirror
Oddly, our camper van didn’t come with the standard passenger-side visor mirror. But for a mere $7, we added one ourselves, which can be easily removed whenever needed. Beyond its obvious use, it might come in handy in emergencies or even playfully to dazzle an annoying sibling momentarily (I wish I had this decades ago!).
Safe and joyous journeys to you!
