Apart from the imposing walls, there are five attractions not to be missed: Tour César, the Tithe Barn, the Provins Museum, the Underground Galleries, and the Saint-Ayoul Priory. Each attraction is ensconced within a historic edifice, making the ambiance just as captivating as the displays. Though I was particularly enchanted by Caesar’s Keep, visiting all five will be a treat.

The most unforgettable part of our Provins experience was the Banquet des Troubadours. This three-hour immersive dinner takes you to a 12th-century vaulted chamber where you’re encouraged to don period attire.
The intimate setting allows you to closely engage with the evening’s performers, who mesmerize with music, magic, skits, and an astonishing fire-breathing finale. Though primarily in French, their antics transcend language barriers.
The meal comprises medieval dishes, spaced out perfectly to savor and enjoy. The ambience, combined with the feast and entertainment, promises an experience like no other.
Live Performances for Families
Beyond the indoor entertainment, consider catching an outdoor medieval performance. Shows usually run from late March to early November and include:
- The Legends of the Knights: A show brimming with jousting, acrobatics, and horseback stunts.
- The Eagles of the Ramparts: A mesmerizing display of falconry.
- Fire Horses: A nighttime spectacle, especially captivating during the Provins by Candlelight festivals in July and August.

Getting to Provins from Paris is straightforward. Depart from Gare de l’Est directly, or if needed, combine a train and bus journey. The drop-off point is conveniently located near the tourism office, making it easy to start your explorations.
